Restoring from the ground up:

Agri-Health System

by HarvestCare

Definition

Recognition of the impact that the agriculture sector has on the healthcare system.

Integration of policy, research, education, and funding to align both sectors with preventive health as their focal point.

The story behind the term.

It’s a late summer afternoon in 2024. Huub from Fresh Ventures helps us kick-start the most important European grant we will write. We are looking for the right name for our proposal: short, catchy, and properly reflecting Harvestcare's mission and work. At some point, someone says ‘Agri-Health’. THAT’S IT! We have it. 10 letters which represent what we decided to pour our hearts into.

This is how it all starts. Zuzanna starts pitching the term across Europe at conferences, workshops and webinars. With joy, we see the term quickly being picked up by investors, farmers and other non-profit organisations.

Our hope is for the Agri-Health Systemic transition to grow bigger each year like a beautiful tree, while never forgetting to centre it on what the term was created for - justice, climate justice, social justice, and justice to the farmers.
